Sparkling performance in SAICA IAC exams

Cumulative SAICA and ICAN IAC/ITC results : 96%+
One of the questions we often get from students is regarding the pass rate in the standard setting South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN) exams, named the Initial assessment of competence (IAC), which was previously know as the ITC.
In the IAC, candidates get 6 attempts to pass after qualifying to write by completing their Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy with us. Our cumulative pass rate at IAS when considered by cohort from the 2018 intake to today, without considering students who still have an opportunity to write again, yields a cumulative historic pass rate of 96%.
We have also had a number of super achievers who have passed with honours, or have been rated in the ICAN top 10. A pass with honours is achieved when a student achieves more than a 75% average for the ITC exam as a whole, while a top 10 is being in the top 10 performers in the country.
The IAS throughput in the IAC/ITC exams is testament to the quality of the education which our graduates receive.
The SAICA and ICAN IAC/ITC results are often seen as a measure of success of education providers.
At IAS we are proud to have strong pass rates in both the PGDA and the IAC exams. We also support our students all the way through every attempt until they pass. This includes providing updates to new IFRS sections, new tax sections, and new standards and legislation which may be introduced, and exam preparation sessions (board course). In fact, a student is not complete with their journey with the IAS until they have been inducted as a CA (SA). Therefore even through the professional programme phase which leads to the APC SAICA board exam, we continue to support our students with technical sessions.
